Eco-friendly Farmers
Forum (EFFF)
EFFF is a forum of 17 farming families
who are actively involved and committed to sustainable
agricultural practices, started in 1992. This being
the oldest and most experienced institution, also functions
as a “think tank” in providing guidance
and support to other institutions in the network. EFFF
encourages farmers to come together, share their experiences,
exchange their produces, plan their farms and market
their products. >

Eco-friend
Eco-Friend is a marketing initiative of
eco-friendly farmers forum, for marketing the products
of their farms. The organically grown and processed
agricultural products were processed by the farmers
and marketed under the brand name “Eco-friend”.

Organic Spices
Growers Forum (OSGF)
Organic Spices Growers Forum (OSGF) is
an initiative of farmer families to promote Organic
cultivation of spices and medical plants suit to the
condition of Kerala. Their emphasis is on multi crop
cultivation of spices based on ecological tenets. The
forum also initiated processing, value addition and
marketing of spices. Knowing the importance of the promotion
of vanilla, OSGF concentrated the activities of this
year to promote cultivation, processing and marketing
of Vanilla. The chairman of OSGF Sri. George Mathew
Aduppukallel received National Innovation Foundation
(NIF) Award from the Hon. President of India for his
new innovation “Kandankayam system” in Vanilla
cultivation. The documentary film produced by INFACT
& OSGF explains this new innovation. >

PTD Farmers Group
PTD group is of farmers engaged in promoting
sustainable farming technologies through participatory
research. The involvement and participation of farmers,
experts, scientists, and organizations make it more
interesting and useful. Exposure visits, monthly meetings,
field visits, experience sharing, periodic farm level
monitoring, evaluation and documentations are the major
activities. >

Karshakavedi
Karshakavedi is a platform of farmers,
initiated by INFACT, during 1996-97. It is a wider forum
of farmers, with more members and coverage of area,
and has assumed the nature and role of a movement of
small farmers. Main activities are organizing and sensitizing
farmers for their rights and duties to strengthen sustainable
agriculture, Acting as pressure group of small farmers,
Sensitizing the decision makers of the State and other
stakeholders. >

effort at preserving an indigenous goat variety named
Malabari, from extinction. >
